WordPress Content Management System.
In beginning of this course, I called a WordPress is content management system or CMS, I said it is really just an application that works with interface between publishers and database and the visitors, this is off course a difficult of confusion description.
I know that is bit more explanation. So, for in this course you learn how to create a post and pages, how to organize them how to add media t them, all these actions are part of CMS where you can that you are managing the content and what makes WordPress powerful its, precisely gives your ability to manage your content. You have already seen that most obvious example:
Content Management System.
“A content management system (CMS) is a computer application that allows publishing, editing and modifying content, organizing, deleting as well as maintenance from a central interface.”
Once you have added image in your post, WordPress becomes a more entity you can call it into other post or page or gallery in any time without upload the again.
You also remember you can add or remove category and tags, on any post, any time and when reorganizing content whenever you want again content management the reason you want to use to content management system unlike WordPress rather than build static pages, for each of your pieces the content precisely this, in content management system.
You can create edit re organize re associates and delete any piece of content at any time, without having worry about ensure other pieces content are affected.
The system will know what to do? And keep everything in order.
Adding New Posts.
Adding new posts, and puts at the top, of index page changing the publishing date, and WordPress re organize chronological order for your post, schedule a post, and WordPress will publish it, have to specify features and times, in this chapter we look at how we can use the many content, management features, WordPress manipulates.
Navigating the Admin Panel.
The content management section of admin panel is found in second collection of choice in the admin menu, from here you can achieve your posts, your pages, your media elements, and your comments.
If you want to use plugins to extend functionality like forms, posts or new content types they typically show up here, when you click each of these content types you are taken to back end, index of that type posts show all your posts, pages show your all pages, media show grid of media items you uploaded to your site, and son.
WordPress Content Management System.
From these views you can do things like, search individual items, in search box, sort all items based on various factors, including title of directly date chronologically or use the filter at the top of here. And screen options you can see what you want to see, on this index pages, and how many items, to see on page, within this view you can either select individual item and do quick edit, you can hover over any item. Click on title or edit button.
Also, can use trash. See also front of site. These index views may content management easier because it provides all necessary info about all your items, in simple to understand package, but where they really sign, quick editing, bulk management which we will look next.
But first we look tiny bit of clean up. You know the when you install the WordPress you had three pieces of content you have post which is hello world.
You have page simple page, and also have one comment. See each in WordPress. Now we use in to trash this comment. And the sample page.
To do so I go to post index. Go to hello world and click on trash this does not actually delete the post it puts in trash bin you can see by clicking on trash if you want to delete completely delete permanently and you can also restore post or page if in mistake remove the post.
And same thing for the page.
If you ever create page or post and you get URL -2 it means already have existing page or post with the same URL to fix this problem
Go to trash of page/post delete permanently.
